Lomas and Thorpe move to Openshaw Manchester

3rd April 2019

Less than a year after the Entwistle Group moved its Manchester city centre print operations into appreciably larger and more suitable premises in the former 18,000 square-foot Aldi supermarket premises located in Openshaw, the Group’s Middleton operations are now following.

Occupying modern purpose-built office and production premises, Openshaw now enables the Group to be able to provide a far better one-stop-shop service to present and future customers.  Aside from the convenience of ample on-site parking, Entwistle Group can now offer fantastic meeting rooms and the opportunity to see all the printing machinery 'in action'. This presents purchasers of printing machines the opportunity not only to see them working to full capacity but will also afford the opportunity to discuss the printing processes at length to ensure they are able to make a reassured and informed purchase.

Customers benefit from having all printing solutions under the one large roof

With everything under one roof, customers will benefit once again from having a streamlined service from Entwistle group where not only can they have all design and printing needs met in the one location, but printing supplies and the all-important engineering team will be under the same roof. A major part of the sales team’s success has been the exceptional industry-leading after-sales service offered by the engineering team who are always on hand and available to help maintain existing machines, while also helping to iron out any teething problems with newly acquired printing equipment.

The Middleton premises opened in the mid-1960’s and at one point was responsible for employing over 50 members of staff, much of their work involving the use of two large coating machines used to coat diazo paper, the staple of any architect’s ‘blueprints’. Today the machinery has changed, while the services and printing machines available have expanded beyond recognition.

From HP printers to Summa cutters and Rowe and Gera paper folders

Entwistle group can supply all the leading graphics printers and wide-format printers as well. The current HP latex printers are proving to be extremely popular with their combined print and cut capabilities which save considerable time and reduce the need for ‘human input’. The choice of plotters and CAD printers is the best around with an extensive range of models available from HP, Kip, Canon and Epson, while the respected and reliable Mutoh brand provides a choice of the best solvent, led UV, and dye sublimation wide format machines. Add Paper folders from Rowe and Gera alongside laminators and scanners, and that is just about every base covered on the machinery front.

Printer paper from plain paper rolls to inkjet paper, banner vinyl and canvas rolls for printing

Of course, printers can’t print without printing ink and printing paper, and at Entwistle group an exceptional range of both is available, with printing paper ranging plain paper rolls and inkjet paper ranging from 90gsm uncoated to 170gsm satin and gloss photographic quality rolls. For more-commercial and unique printing products, there is also ample stock of banner vinyl and vinyl cling rolls, together with canvas rolls as well.

Meeting all your design and in-house printing needs

Don’t forget that we offer an extensive range of in-house printing services as well. Add an exceptionally talented design team with over 50 years of printing experience and the Entwistle Group can now meet a multitude of printing requirements from a small print run of twenty units run through to multi-thousand-unit print runs of leaflets, brochures, magazines and books.
