HP DesignJet T2600 DR PS 36-in MFP

The HP T2600 36-in multifunctional printer is HP’s latest model in its T series range and replaces the venerable T2530. It’s been designed to meet the requirements of medium sized companies in the construction, architectural and engineering sectors as well as smaller print shops.

Which areas have been improved?

Printing and scanning speeds have been increased and major improvements have been made to security. A 15.6-in touch screen is one of many features that improves usability including simplified work flows and greater flexibility in relation to printing different types of document files. Productivity has been increased by almost 40% thanks to the cutter now being separated from the print carriage, this means the print carriage spends more time printing instead of wasting valuable time cutting. This one improvement means that instead of the 120 A1 prints per hour that could be achieved on the T2530, the T2600 can now produce 180 A1 prints per hour.

Print Performance

The T2600 has been engineered to meet printing volumes of up to 150 m ² per month for single roll machines and 300m ² for dual roll machines. With a first page out time of just 29 seconds you can spend less time waiting at your printer for your prints to arrive and more time designing the things you print. As well as the fastest first page out time in the market an A1 sheet can be printed in as little as 19.3 seconds using a combination of Fast mode and Economode.

Print resolution is 2400 x 1200 optimized dpi and uses a 6 cartridge system with a choice of ink cartridge sizes of 130ml or 300ml for extended printing.

Speed and quality are impressive whilst functionality gains deliver a range of advantages.

PDF –  36 x 315 in (914mm x 8000mm)

Scan to USB, scan to network folders or even to the cloud using HP Smart app. With the optional PostScript upgrade, files can be scanned to PDF as well as the standard JPEG or TIFF formats.

Media Loading and Stacker

The HP DJ T2600 has an automatic front loading roll feed which support a wide range of wide format materials including Bond and Coated Papers, Technical Papers, Photo papers, Films, Self Adhesive, Banner and sign materials. DR (dual roll) models have smart roll switching and can accommodate rolls up to 650 ft (200m) long and 5.5in (140mm) in diameter. Maximum roll weight is 26.3lb (119kg).

The stacker can handle A0 – A4 has the capacity for 100 A1 sheets.

Inks and Printheads

The printer uses a 6 colour system:

• Cyan
• Magenta
• Yellow
• Matte black
• Photo black
• Grey

Two options of ink sizes are available, 130ml and for extended printing 300ml. A single universal print head is deployed.

Security

HP have gone to great lengths to improve the security of the machines from cyber attack and hacking. Printers are often the weakest link on any network which is why HP has developed embedded device security that monitors attacks. Multilayer user authentication protects data and documents from being deleted whilst a Firewall and a self-encrypting Hard Drive and Secure Disk Erase further strengthen security.

The HP DJ 2600 is a remarkably compact, energy efficient and quiet printer. It takes up very little space in any office or print room.
