The MUTOH HydrAton 1642 is a new generation of 64" wide-format printer designed to produce outstanding graphics for both interior and exterior applications.
At the heart of the HydrAton is Fujifilm's innovative AQUAFUZE™ water-based UV ink technology. It combines many of the environmental and operational advantages of water-based inks with the durability associated with UV printing, producing vibrant, scratch-resistant graphics with low odour and low VOC emissions.
Equipped with dual AccuFine HD printheads and MUTOH's advanced ink film formation technology, the HydrAton delivers sharp detail, smooth gradients and excellent colour reproduction across a broad range of media.
This versatility makes it an excellent production machine for print businesses wanting to produce both interior graphics and durable exterior work from a single printer.
Typical applications include:
The HydrAton's ultra-thin ink film helps retain the original appearance and texture of the media while delivering excellent scratch resistance, making it particularly attractive for premium interior and display applications.
The MUTOH HydrAton 1642 is a strong choice for print businesses looking for a versatile, environmentally responsible wide-format printer capable of producing both interior and exterior graphics.
One of the HydrAton's major advantages is its ability to produce a wide variety of applications using a broad range of roll-fed media.
Suitable media includes:
AQUAFUZE™ ink creates an exceptionally thin printed film, helping preserve the original texture and characteristics of the underlying media. The technology is compatible with a variety of media without requiring primers or optimisers.
As experienced commercial printers ourselves, Entwistle can also advise on media selection. We understand that the combination of printer, ink, media and application is just as important as the specification of the machine itself.
The MUTOH HydrAton 1642 is supplied with:
Ink, media and other consumables are available from Entwistle, allowing us to provide ongoing support for your machine after purchase.
Professional installation and operator training are available from Entwistle as an optional service.
Our trained engineers can deliver, install and commission your new printer, configure the system and ensure it is operating correctly before handover.
We can also provide operator training, helping your team understand the machine, software and day-to-day operation so that they can begin producing high-quality work with confidence.
Our involvement doesn't have to end with installation. Entwistle provides ongoing telephone technical support, engineering support, repairs and a choice of service contracts to keep your equipment operating effectively throughout its working life.
Buying a production printer is a long-term investment, so having access to reliable support can be every bit as important as choosing the machine itself.
Free telephone technical support
Customers who purchase their printer from Entwistle have access to free telephone technical support. Many operational problems can be diagnosed and resolved remotely, helping get your machine back into production quickly without waiting for an engineer visit.
Service contracts
For customers who want greater cost certainty and comprehensive protection, we offer a choice of rolling one-year service contracts or three- and five-year service contracts.
Depending on the agreement selected, service contracts can include:
A service contract provides the reassurance of knowing that specialist technical support is available when you need it while helping protect against unexpected repair costs and minimise production downtime.
A rolling one-year contract provides flexibility for businesses that prefer a shorter-term commitment, while three- and five-year agreements provide longer-term support and greater cost certainty.
Support without a service contract
You don't have to take out a service contract to receive support from Entwistle.
If your machine develops a problem and isn't covered by a service agreement, we can arrange for one of our highly trained engineers to diagnose and repair it. Engineer call-outs, labour and any parts required are chargeable where the machine isn't covered by a service contract or warranty.
This gives customers the flexibility to choose the level of ongoing support that best suits their business.
Sustainability is an important consideration when investing in new print technology, and the HydrAton has been developed around a more environmentally responsible approach to wide-format printing.
Its AQUAFUZE™ ink is primarily water-based and produces low VOC emissions and very little odour. The inks are GREENGUARD Gold certified, making the technology particularly suitable for graphics intended for interior environments.
AQUAFUZE™ is GHS hazard-free and does not intentionally contain applicable CMR or SVHC substances. Its thin ink film provides excellent scratch resistance without requiring an overcoat for suitable applications, while the HydrAton has also been designed for low power consumption.
These characteristics make the HydrAton particularly interesting for businesses producing interior graphics, retail displays and wallcoverings, as well as those seeking to reduce the environmental impact of their wide-format production.
Entwistle shares that commitment to more sustainable print.
Our environmental management system is accredited to ISO 14001:2015, while our quality management system is accredited to ISO 9001:2015. We also hold FSC® Chain of Custody certification.
Across our own print operations we have invested in energy-efficient print technology and premises, extensive solar generation and comprehensive recycling systems. We encourage the use of FSC® certified and recycled papers and alternatives to PVC and single-use plastics wherever appropriate.
Our sustainability approach also extends to the equipment we sell. Correct maintenance can improve machine efficiency and extend the useful life of print equipment, while we aim to recycle packaging materials recovered during printer installations wherever possible.
There is an important difference between buying a printer from Entwistle and buying one from a company that simply sells print equipment:
We are printers ourselves.
Our teams work with professional print technology every day. We test equipment, operate wide-format printers in real commercial production environments and use some of the technologies we sell within our own business.
That practical experience means we understand much more than the specifications on a manufacturer's brochure. We understand how printers perform in the real world – print quality, media choice, colour management, workflow, productivity, reliability and the operating costs that ultimately determine whether a machine is right for your business.
We can help you choose the right machine for what you actually want to produce rather than simply sell you a printer.
And our support continues after you've bought it.
From optional installation and operator training to free telephone technical support, engineer call-outs, repairs and flexible service contracts, Entwistle can support your printer throughout its working life.
Flexible leasing options are also available, allowing businesses to spread the cost of their investment, subject to approval and the terms of the finance agreement.
When you buy from Entwistle, you're buying from people who don't just sell printers – we use them, understand them and support them.
